About Family Tree Nursery
Family Tree Nursery has been a family-owned part of the Kansas City community since 1964, and our Overland Park store is where it all began. The original and largest of our three locations, it spans five acres of trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, roses, tropicals, and edibles. We grow almost every bedding plant we sell at our own greenhouses, and our horticulturists travel nationwide scouting trial gardens to find the best varieties for our tough growing conditions. You'll also find one of Kansas City's largest selections of pottery and planters, beautifully curated gifts, home décor, and traditional garden center products. Each spring, the Overland Park store hosts our Annual Spring Open House, with display gardens, live music, and more.

One of my favorite places! The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, everything is clean and well taken care of. Most importantly, the soil never has fungus gnats like it does when you buy it from major retailers! If I ever hit the lottery I’m buying all my landscaping here.

Tremendous selection of plants, flowers, accessories. Great prices. Big parking lot. Easy to move around the shop. Will go back for more.

A very wide and beautiful selection of plants, fertilizer, soil, and everything else landscaping, indoor planting, or in between. Also a nice variety of home decor and candles and such for gifting or just to treat yourself. Their pot collection is unbelievable in all ranges of styles and prices to fit anybody’s needs add to that their expertise and customer service is above and beyond. I just go here sometimes to have a nice hour or so to get inspired.

We've been fans of Family Tree Nursery for a very long time, but this Christmas Season, we became STELLAR FANS! Picture this: an immense array of uniquely gorgeous Christmas ornaments, invaluable staff members like Lexi (pictured) and Heidi, and the opportunity to share some of that seasonal beauty in our home. The translucent globes were the perfect fit for the kitchen cabinet display shelves.

Wow what a beautiful place! It was our first time coming here. We came for the free event that was on today and were not disappointed. This store is beautiful, inside and out... Everyone here was welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere was peaceful and pleasant and the scent and sight of all the flowers was heavenly. I would love to come back here and buy some things for our garden. I think it is a great gift store also, there's something here for everyone. Just look how beautiful it is here from the photos...
